Böcek imgesi, çelişkilerin simgesidir. Parlak renkleriyle büyüler; ama tiksintiyle karşılanır. Estetik biçimde betimlenir; ama bastırılması gereken, dışlanmış bir varlıktır. Güzelliği ile tehditkârlığı bir arada taşır. Bu eserlerde böcek, yalnızca bir canlı değil; sosyolojik, psikolojik ve estetik kodlarla yüklü bir metafordur.

 

Anatomik sadakatten çok, tanınabilirlik ve çağrışım gücü önemlidir. Zamanla oyuncaklaşır, süslenir ya da saklanır; bazen doğrudan, bazen dolaylı olarak meseleye temas eder. Gündelik olanı yırtarak, izleyiciyi rahatsız eder ama aynı zamanda büyüler. Eleştirel bir aracıya dönüşür; hem görsel bir motif, hem de düşünsel bir tetikleyicidir. Bu böcekler, anlatıdan çok algıya hizmet eder. Kendi anlamlarını taşısalar da, en çok izleyicinin zihninde kurdukları dünyada var olurlar.

The insect image is a symbol of contradictions. It dazzles with vibrant colors, yet provokes disgust. It is depicted in aesthetic forms, yet represents the repressed and the excluded. It embodies beauty and menace simultaneously. In these works, the insect is not merely a creature—it is a metaphor loaded with sociological, psychological, and aesthetic codes.

 

What matters is not anatomical accuracy, but recognizability and associative power. Over time, it becomes toy-like, ornamented, or hidden; sometimes it addresses issues directly, sometimes more subtly. It tears through the mundane, unsettling the viewer while simultaneously captivating them. It becomes a critical tool—both a visual motif and an intellectual trigger. These insects serve perception more than narration. While they carry their own meanings, they come to life most vividly in the world imagined by the viewer.
